Certainly this is the largest show in the US as the booths cover a huge expanse of ground at the famous Fruit and Spice Park in Redlands, Florida (near Homestead). 20' X 10' white tents dot the landscape, teeming with orchids of all descriptions. It is like a huge orchid village! Small wonder so many of our customers from the Caribbean flock to this show and sale. Cattleya lovers leave very very happy....arm in arm with the epi. growers, of course! Hours are 10 - 5 all three days.
This weekend is recognized around the world as a very special Open House opportunity at all Santa Barbara area orchid nurseries. This is a fun weekend and not to be missed! Hours are 9-5 each day. More details as time approaches.

Our only opportunity to meet and great our orchid customers from the East is now held at the Phila. Expo. Center at Oaks! The first sale at the new venue found us sharing space with the gun show. Not preferred roommates, but an interesting side-show to be sure (camouflage lingerie?!) ! This year we don't have to share with them, and so parking will be much less of an issue! Last year we had a conflict with another show, so we had to pass, but this year we'll be here and loaded for bear, as they say. Don't miss it, we're looking forward to seeing everyone!!!
Always one of our favorite shows in this great Southern California beach city. There is so much to see and do in San Diego! BUT FIRST go to the orchid show, right? I hear children crying...This show, at the Scottish Rite's Temple in Hotel Circle, is a must for Southern California growers as it specializes in orchids that can be grown out of doors including Cymbidiums, Laelias, Australian Dendrobiums and related hybrids. If you have the time, check out the AFRICAN ADVENTURE exhibit at the San Diego Zoo. New this year, and featuring some of Cal-Orchids' HUGE Ansellia africana specimens establishing happily near the waterfall (hopefully not too near... they don't want to be kept wet!)
THE LONGEST RUNNING SHOW IN AMERICA! Not even the wars interrupted us!! That is quite an accomplishment, and testimony to our city's tremendous draw for orchid growers from all around the world. Visit this year and celebrate with the members & Trustees of the AMERICAN ORCHID SOCIETY! The expansive display area is worthy of bragging rights, dominated by large floor displays. This year the AOS gala dinner party will be set right in the middle of things! Yes, in the exhibit hall! Total immersion. Photos of this show are published in books, magazines and journals all over the world. Major motion picture studios have filmed on our site. Admission Hours are 9-5 all three days. This show was forced to move out of the cavernous Ft. Mason venue back to its origins at the classy Hall of Flowers, in Golden Gate Park last year. (The rent in the city is outrageous.) No matter where it goes, this one is definitely one of the BIGGIES of the orchid world, and attracts growers and vendors far and wide. this year, half of the available space will be dedicated to exceptional exhibits. As a result, they will be exceptionally selective about what vendors attend. This year there will again hold the GALA on FRIDAY! Don't miss out to see how this very special show continues to evolve. Visit & support us in this new venue!

This show, held in the Westminster Mall near Little Saigon is really great with fantastic exhibits and super vendors. It is supported by a strong and dedicated group of orchid society member and has earned a great reputation. We pretty sell out every year, even with re-stocking. Don't miss an opportunity to have some orchid fun and visit with us without having to drive up to Santa Barbara!
This show, held in Redwood City, Ca. to our north is one of California's boutique shows. Don't let the size fool you. There is a wealth of beautiful displays and many fine nurseries as vendors. We think it is so special as it is one of the friendliest shows that we attend. As a shopper, you can actually talk with the vendor about the plants you want to grow and buy! It is a perfect way to kick off the new year for you growers in the bay area.
We love leaving our brisk weather in Santa Barbara to go see all our friends and sell orchids in Florida in January! This show has long and rich history, and is one of the best national shows for those who enjoy fantastic floor exhibits. Sales booths ring the entire building and we ship in an extremely diverse group of plants to satisfy the needs of serious collectors as well as the 'ground orchid' (epis) lovers as well! This is your chance to buy from CAL without paying shipping! The preview party on Friday night is an event in itself with great food, drink, and music. If you miss us here, we won't be back in Florida again until Redlands in May, so kick off the 2017 season in Ft. Lauderdale with us! As I write this we think about our friends in Florida cleaning up post-Irma in the heat and rain. Tough slogging. Our hearts go out to you.
The first weekend of November means it is time for our Fall Open House, and it's our chance to say hello and THANK YOU to our long-standing, loyal customers; many of whom we consider family. Over the years, South Coast Plaza has established itself as the hotspot for orchid shows , and to kick things off, the 37th Annual Fascination of Orchids will be held September 23rd & 24thwill be held outdoors at their lovely, tree shaded 'Village' sales area. This is diagonally across from where the Spring Garden Sale is held each April. There is a showroom for displays, and all the sales booths are set up under the trees, on the grass. We love it. This is a traditionally big weekend for Laelia anceps and its hybrids for outdoor growing but we pack our booth with everything we can. For your convenience, The Corner Bakery is right there for you to enjoy breakfast or lunch so you can easily spend the whole day at the show.
For thousands of years, the Japanese culture has held its native orchid species, Neofinetia falcata in highest regard.
3 years ago, we decided to spotlight the Japanese style of evaluating this species when judging in Japan. It is decidedly different from the criteria used by the American Orchid Society, and we think, quite interesting. So, Saturday afternoon there will be an informal (by Japanese standards) judging of Neofinetias for everyone to observe.
Watch the website when we get closer to the date for more specifics, but this is a popular aspect to our Summer Hummer and we are enjoying watching it grow!
Informal lectures will take place before judging.
Official judging will start at 2:00 PM. A discussion of the results will follow the judging.
Event is sponsored by the Fukiran Society of America
Hosted by the famous Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, this even was founded by Bruce Davidson, who started the Real Orchid Growers site - www.realorchidgrowers.com!
Wine tasting in the courtyard under the trees is a great side attraction to this wonderful sales event. Sales are held in an intimate setting indoors next to the patio and a very select group of orchid vendors are invited to attend. Skill sessions are given each day and plant raffles are held at the end of each one. Preview party on Friday from 5:30 to 9:00. Often a guest speaker is featured. More info at : realorchidgrowers.com
Held at the landmark, upscale mall in Costa Mesa, this beauty occupies 3 floors with sales booths! Bring your gardening friends, as although orchids dominate the entire 3rd floor, roses, plumerias, fruit trees, tomato starts and lots of cactus/succulents are up for grabs (as it were). This is the show we really promote our 'Pacific Line' of reedstem epidendrums, so if that is your vice we will satisfy you with ease. Also, our Laelia anceps hybrids get a nice push here too. Hours are Thurs: 10-9, Fri: 10-9, Sat: 10-8, Sun: 11-6.30
The date has changed for this event to dodge the crazy hot conditions we've contended with in the past! No more traffic going into and out of the Shore too, for those commuting by car. This year they have streamlined the number of vendors to represent commercial nurseries not regularly represented on the east coast, and we are happy to join the roster! Hours are 10-5Friday Sept. 11, and Sat. Sept. 12th. Sunday hours are 10-3.

This is a wonderful orchid society with dedicated members who work hard to ensure every detail is perfectly executed. It is held at the Community Activities Center in Redwood City, Ca.
