James always enjoys visiting with our orchid friends on the Eastern Seaboard - even if it means travelling in wintertime to do it!  The Silva brothers are generation two for this venerated nursery and are respected for their expertise as growers of Catts. and Phals. Penninsula Orchid Society's Show and Sale
Kick off the California show season with us in Redwood City this year! If the San Francisco show is just too much of a madhouse for you, come to this one. You are actually able to visit with an exclusive group of commercial growers at their sales booths instead of being jostled about by the hoards. You will find a nice diverse group of vendors without so much chaos as with the huge shows. AOS judging is held as well. Iif you have not gone to this show before check it out at penorchidsoc.org and you'll soon see why there is such a dedicated group of attendees each and every year.

Newport Harbor Orchid Society's Orchid Expo!
IT'S BACK! And right in time to come and pick out a Valentine's Day Gift! There will be a real demand for plants, so get there bright and early on Friday for best selection! We only come down into the L.A. area a couple of times year, so mark your calendar and stop by our sales booth on the ground floor to see what's new from Cal-Orchid without having to make the 2 hour drive to Santa Barbara. At the famous Westminster Mall!

Pacific Orchid Exposition - San Francisco, Ca.
This year the theme is A Salute To The Golden Gate! The bridge is celebrating its 75th anniversary, the show is celebrating its 60th, sounds like a party year to us! The diversity and magnificent floor displays are legendary. AND If you are a wine lover, the preview party features live music, boutique wineries (check out Sunset Cellars) pouring incredible wines unavailable commercially, and then GO SHOPPING for orchids! San Diego Orchid Show
This is one of California's oldest orchid shows and held off Hotel Circle at the Scottish Rites Temple (where there is tons of free parking)! We make a point to showcase orchids that do well outdoors in So. California so if this is your niche, gas up the minivan and load up with new colors of cyms., Aussie dendrobiums, and Laelia anceps hybrids. Yes, we pack in a lot of cool species as well for the die-hards! The Friday hours are 3-7p.m. for all you 'gotta work' types (like us).

Santa Barbara International Orchid Show!
This is the 67th. and our theme is ORCHIDELICS. So dig out the tie-die t-shirts, cast your cares away, and start smiling again! Spend a few hours strolling thru the display area and you'll be rejuvinated in no time...and, we hope, ready to hit the sales hall (where we take a double-wide booth). We think the Santa Barbara Show provides growers of all levels with one of the widest assortment of orchids found anywhere. S.E.P.O.S. Show, Longwood Gardens, PA.
Looking for classic elegance? Showy floor displays? Established commercial orchid nurseries loaded down with orchids for sale??? This is your show. The venue dates back to 1906, where the conservatory, where all the orchid displays are staged, took decades to complete by the Du Pont family. This is a national treasure, and attracts loads of visitors from all over the world even without an orchid show! Lucky you, if you attend you get BOTH! Fly into Philadelphia and head to Kennett Square for a magical day.

Sacramento Orchid Society Show
Our newest 'favorite'! This is a mid-sized show and loads of fun! You can visit with the growers at their sales booths relatively comfortably without getting squeezed out by throngs of people. There is judging for those of you who want to subject your plants to scrutiny by experts too. The Sacramento Orchid Society really fills a void for orchid growers in 'gold country'. If you live anywhere near Sacramento, make sure you make this springtime event and meet your orchid 'neighbors'!

South Coast Plaza's FAMOUS Spring Garden Show
Over 75 vendors, on three floors! This is 23 years strong, and definitely a show and sale that ALL plant lovers will not want to miss. 3 floors in this upscale mall are packed with over 75 sales booths loaded with plants of all kinds for sale. Roses, palms, plumerias, seeds, cuttings, flowering plants...If your spouse likes to garden and you like orchids, this is the sale weekend you'll BOTH love! The third floor is ALL ORCHIDS and at our double booth, our Pacific Line of Reedstem Epis. are a huge focus! Be sure to check out the displays on the first floor. Many are built by famous Rose Parade float designers, and you won't believe how magnficent they are!

16th Annual Redlands International Orchid Festival!!
Here is an opportunity for all SPECIES FREAKS to totally satisfy their insatiable thirst for new and exciting plants! The crowd of vendors is a great mix of growers from all around the world, so if you travel to this sales event at the world famous Fruit and Spice Park in Homestead, Florida give yourself ample time to wander the outdoor sales area and visit with all the growers. Over 60 vendors from all over the world. USDA is there to help with documents for those who want to take plants back to their country!

San Jose Japantown Orchid Festival
The Miaido Club House on 6th. St. in Japan Town is the special location for this very unique sale. OPENING NIGHT is Friday from 6-9 p.m. and then the regular hours Sat and Sun. 9-5. This is the only sales event that features wine tasting, chocolate and orchid skill sessions all throughout the show. We have all the vices covered! No more than 6 commerical nurseries are allowed to participate. San Jose needed an orchid event, and this has developed into a real gem!! J & L Orchids' Summer Thaw Sale
Whoops, this is the SUMMER SALE, not the JANUARY THAW SALE!! Some weekends we wish it was much cooler, but this is extreme! This summer weekend is loaded with orchids, food, fun, culture classes and friendship. We'll bring special plants that you don't see on the Eastern Seaboard anywhere else. Only about an hour's drive from NYC and it is so beautiful and green this time of year!

S.B. International Orchid Fair
The premier summer event, for sure! This is not to be missed. The Orchid Fair at Earl Warren Showgrounds is where we take a free standing tent of our own and join dozens of other orchid vendors outside. At the nursery, we pick 250 avocados to make up our famous blend of guacamole for the weekend however. Sometimes we wonder if the guacamole and salsa are the main attractions, but we see so many holes on the benches, that we know the sale prices on plants are why everyone goes into the greenhouses after snacking!

San Francisco Orchid Fest, Golden Gate Park
After a long lazy summer, this annual event ushers in orchid season for us. We'll have plenty of new cymbidium seedlings and meristems to tempt you as well as select L. anceps divisions and hybrids. Great for your outdoor patio garden! Enjoy a day in the Park and come home with a box or two of some new things to complement your cymbidium bench!

Southland Orchid Show
One of our favorite fall shows. The Huntington Gardens is one of the most beautiful settings for an Orchid Show and is worth seeing anytime. The weather will be fantantic and will be a great way to spend the day. Many exhibitors and vendors make this a show not to miss. Note:NEW HOURS- Friday noon-4:30, Sat.& Sun.10:30-4:30
