Want something very miniature, with a very large flower, that smells like a gardenia at nighttime? Who doesn't? This African species fits the bill. Great in terrariums! Spring bloomer. Grows in Madagascar on forest trees where it doesn't get much water in the winter.).

Bollea ecuadoriana

The 'parrot beak' orchid. Beautiful soft-leafed species from Ecuador. Broad soft light-green leaves give the feeling of a fern.  This is a robust grower!  Many waxy pink-purple flowers burst from the base. Grows quickly into specimen plants.

Wils. Hilda Plumtree 'Purple Wings'

The perfect Odontoglossum for beginners.  Large showy flowers of chestnut and yellow held on large sprays. Mature plants will exhibit branching spikes. Sometimes you will see some purple suffusion at the edges of the petals! (Hence the name.) Very easy to grow with good warmth tolerance.  Plants have very attractive, plump bulbs as well.   Overall, extremely eye-catching.

Paphiopedilum delenatii

One of the loveliest of all Paphiopedilum species.  This native to Viet Nam always creates a stir.  A great plant for windowsill culture requiring only soft light.  It also has stunning grey-green mottled leaves, making it attractive even when it's not in bloom. Great for low light too!

Encyclia Green Hornet

This primary hybrid between Enc. cochleata and Enc. lancifolia offers the really unusal for the grower.  Very unique octopus-like flowers of green and black bloom for months on the same spike.  Plant is interesting and compact. Does equally well under bright or low light conditions! $10 for a 2", flowering size plant, or $15 for one in a 3" pot.

Neofinetia falcata

We absolutely love this miniature species from Japan.  Small clumps quickly form with tiny vandaeceous leaves.  Clusters of pristine white flowers with long nectaries are produced freely in the spring.  Flowers have a sweet coconut fragrance.

Maxillaria tenuifolia

No orchid is more popular than this Maxillaria species  Small bulbs and long, thin leaves quickly form an attractive clump. Many reddish flowers with a strong coconut scent are produced in the late spring. Perfect for basket culture.
